The Hawley Silk Mill-Location of “Art on the Edge”
The Hawley Silk Mill is hosting the Art on the Edge exhibit in a newly remodeled 5,000 square foot space on the first floor of the Silk Mill. Architects from
Bohlin, Cywinski and Jackson of Wilkes-Barre, PA were commissioned by Justin Genzlinger and John Shuman to design a modern clean space that aligns with the already completed sections of the Silk Mill. The owners of the Silk Mill envision their facility serving as a center for culture, commerce and community growth in Hawley. Local construction firms Dakan Enterprises, Inc and
Sordoni Construction Services executed the architectural plans using environmental best practices and adaptive reuse of materials original to the Silk Mill furthering the Silk Mill’s mission to be a green facility.
